Biography:
Minami spent the first few years of school at Yamabuki as something of an outcast - he is neither here nor there do to his outstanding grades that always keep him at the top of the class. Some of his peers envy him, others wish to be him, and yet others want nothing to do with some quiet nerdy kid. Astounding as he is academically, he's easy to pass over in favor of kids who are more artistic, athletic, cuter, funnier, and so on, and he likes it that way. He hopes to fade away into the woodwork so no one will notice that he's different.

Minami joined the tennis club the first day of junior high at Yamabuki - he took lessons throughout primary school, so he was already quite familiar with the game when he joined the club. His tallent was immediately recognized by his sempai in the club - in particular their captain - even though he does not stand out much to his fellow freshman. He is notably tallented at doubles, and plays with several different sempai during practice.

If he could have it his way, he would find the doubles partner for him; someone who would be his doubles partner off and on court - appreciate things he enjoys such as his ridiculously large video game collection.
